Vent Assembler – Manufacturing

Position Overview

A well-established manufacturer of mechanical and steam-system products is seeking a dependable Vent Assembler to join its Benton Harbor manufacturing operation.

This is a lower-skilled, hands-on manufacturing position responsible for assembling steam-system vent products at a bench workstation. Employees will work from bills of materials (BOMs), work instructions, and drawings while using hand tools, power tools, soldering, and other fastening methods.

Previous manufacturing or assembly experience is preferred but not required. The organization is primarily looking for a reliable employee with good attendance, basic mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to learn and consistently follow established assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform bench assembly of different steam-system vent models.
• Read and follow bills of materials (BOMs), work orders, written instructions, diagrams, and applicable drawings.
• Select and assemble the correct components according to production requirements.
• Use hand tools and light power tools safely and effectively.
• Perform basic soldering and fastening operations as required.
• Run assigned production lots while maintaining quality and productivity expectations.
• Examine components and completed assemblies for proper fit and function.
• Identify basic quality or assembly issues and communicate concerns to supervisors.
• Build boxes and package completed products.
• Complete required production and assembly documentation.
• Communicate with coworkers regarding production runs, materials, and workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow company safety, attendance, and quality procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous manufacturing, production, assembly, or other hands-on work experience preferred but not required.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools.
• Ability to follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
• Ability to read basic work orders, BOMs, manuals, and drawings.
• Ability to perform basic math using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness and ability to learn established manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team.
